I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was nine. Growing up my mom handled my epilepsy. I didn’t pay much attention to it. Epilepsy didn’t hold me back. In high school and college complex partial seizures hadn’t slowed me down. I graduated from Loyola Marymount and became a special effects make up artist and esthetician. I also traveled .
During this time I had odd episodes that I found out later they were partial seizures not stress. Later complex partial seizures came back and I got a VNS. I also learned I was born with Polymicrogyria.
I have now decided to share my experience and be a advocate for epilepsy awareness. Even though I have been through difficult experiences and annoying tests. I haven’t let epilepsy stop me!
